At our Canterbury Campus, we offer a complete package for summer schools and external groups.
Our Canterbury Campus is situated in a fantastic location, which is an hour from London and a short journey away from France via the Eurotunnel.
Our University accommodation sites also have great transport links, with two train stations, a National Express coach stop, and a regional bus station, all within ten minute’s walk from most of our accommodation.
Our venues offer a wide variety of space, ranging from our largest lecture theatre, seating up to 225 delegates, to smaller seminar rooms and fully equipped IT suites. With highly competitive room hire rates, you’re sure to be able to find the space you are looking for.
Our accommodation is based in the heart of the historic city and has a range of excellent University accommodation, which is available for let during the summer months. All our accommodation:
- is walking distance from our venues and the city centre
- sites have laundry services
- has internet access and 24-hour security.
Our committed Catering team are able to provide a varied and exciting full board menu, including a continental breakfast, and hot lunch and dinner options.
We can work with you to offer a bespoke menu for your groups, ensuring guests are always spoilt for choice each day. All our venues offer a choice of on-site catering facilities for snacks and refreshments, in addition to the full board package.
We also provide hire of mixed use social spaces, from lecture theatres and classrooms to hire of the Lounge, our 200-seater restaurant/bar at our St George’s Centre. These spaces are perfect for movie nights, board and video game evenings, and other activities that require a bit more flexibility.
Classroom hire
Our facilities in Canterbury are spread across two locations, catering for all styles and events. You can hire out rooms on our North Holmes Road Campus and Augustine House.
North Holmes Road
North Holmes Road is our largest site, perfect for summer schools and groups looking to book a larger quantity of classrooms:
- ten minute walk from the city centre and most accommodation sites
- on-site parking (subject to availability)
- multiple classrooms and lecture theatres on campus, supporting the largest summer schools
- on-site catering facilities for 200 at a time
- long-term summer hire available for office space.
Augustine House
Augustine House is home to our newest, largest, and most modern spaces, which is ideal for residential conferences:
- city centre location
- close to three major public car parks and public transport links
- large conference and exhibition venue for up to 370 guests
- two impressive outdoor terraces, one with views across to the Cathedral
- high-tech audio-visual equipment throughout
- Atrium Café open weekdays until 5pm, serving hot and cold food, and beverages.
Catering
Our Catering team offers an exceptional catering service, which can be tailored to your requirements.
We offer a full board catering service for groups of 30 or more, ensuring your guests never have to think about when and where to eat next. Breakfasts and lunches are available to groups under 30, subject to availability.
Combining a range of different cuisines and styles of dish, our Catering team creates a vibrant menu that is guaranteed to appeal to all tastes.
Our menus are prepared largely from locally sourced produce, and we are more than able to cater to individual dietary needs.
Service is available from our North Holmes Road campus, Augustine House Atrium and Augustine Hall, and St George's Centre, so you are never more than ten minutes away from one of our catering venues at any accommodation*.
Full board options include:
- a continental breakfast of pastries, cereals, and fruit
- a hot lunch with choice of three hot meals, sides, and salads
- a choice of three hot dinners with sides, salads, and dessert.

Social spaces
We offer social space tailored to most summer school and group activities, both on our North Holmes Road campus and at The Lounge Bar in St George's.
The Lounge offers the perfect space for performances and entertainment, and includes staging, lighting, and audio-visual equipment.
