Vice-Chancellor's Challenge

Your chance to win the Vice-Chancellor's Challenge!

About the Vice-Chancellor's Challenge

On Friday 29th June, staff from across the University are invited to form teams and battle it out against colleagues in an attempt to win the Vice-Chancellor’s Challenge Trophy!

The Vice-Chancellor’s Challenge was a new event for 2017, developed by Christ Church Sport in association with the Vice Chancellor as a unique opportunity for staff to take part in a range of enjoyable sporting activities. The event is designed to enable colleagues to get active, represent their school or department and come together as a team outside of an office environment.

The Vice Chancellor, Professor Rama Thirunamachandran said: ‘I welcome the ‘Vice Chancellor’s Challenge’ as an excellent initiative and one clearly linked to the University’s promotion of its Well-Being strategy.  Where operationally feasible I encourage managers to release staff to participate.  Good luck to all the teams competing for the prizes.’

How does it work?

Taking place at Polo Farm Sports Club on Friday 29th June between 1-5pm, it provides a fantastic opportunity for staff within the university to come together and get active in an afternoon of fun sports competition. We are especially pleased to have the backing of the Vice Chancellor for the event.

Activities on offer include:

Ultimate Frisbee
Crazy Cricket
Sitting Volleyball
Walking Netball
Golf Simulator
And much more!

Entries for the event will close at 4pm on Friday 15th June, so whether it’s as a team building activity for your department, a reason to get active or an opportunity to get competitive and socialise with other departments, there is still time for you to enter a team.
