The Vice-Chancellor’s Business Games is an annual, light-hearted sporting event designed to bring industry professionals together for a day of networking, competition, and community spirit.

Project overview

Now in its fourth year, the event features a variety of activities, from relay races to tug-of-war, uniting businesses in the spirit of camaraderie and competition. More than just a sporting challenge, the Games also support a worthy cause, with all proceeds donated to charity.

Project benefits

  • A unique team-building experience, strengthening workplace cohesion.
  • An opportunity to network with local businesses in a fun, informal setting.
  • A chance to contribute to a charitable cause, with all proceeds supporting the Games’ chosen charity, which last year (2024) was Kent MS Therapy Centre.

Nancy Reed, Head of Income Generation for the Kent MS Therapy Centre said: “We were delighted to have been a part of such a brilliant day at the Vice Chancellor's Business Games. It's been a fantastic opportunity for us to raise the profile of the work that we do to support those living with MS and other neurological conditions. We've loved meeting such a broad array of friendly local businesses and look forward to developing our connections with them. A huge thank you to the team at Canterbury Christ Church University for organising such a great event and for choosing to support our Centre this year and raising £3,560!”

Project outcomes

  • The 2024 Games attracted a record 200 participants from 18 organisations.
  • £3,560 was raised for the Kent MS Therapy Centre, supporting those affected by multiple sclerosis and other neurological conditions.
  • Strengthened industry relationships through networking, promoting collaboration beyond the workplace.
