Green took an active part in establishing the international copyright law and allegedly sent a cablegram to William Gladstone (British Prime Minister), the content of which convinced him to back the law (as reported in the New York Times 12 Apr 1935).

Additional information

Though Green's works are widely available via Project Gutenberg and Internet Archive there is surprisingly little information freely available online about the author herself. There is a short entry at Encyclopaedia Britannica and lots of detective fiction websites with a paragraph or two given to Green's life.
