Physical description
In "An Interview with Miss Florence Marryat" in The Pall Mall Gazette (May 16 1883) the writer describes her as "a fine figure of a woman, tall and stately." Giving a lecture in Burnley, described in the Burnley Express and Clitheroe Division Advertiser (Nov 10 1894), "she is a well-built woman" with "a fringe of yellowish-brown hair and a pair of spectacles dressed in black satin evening dress, a necklace of pearls and many rings upon her fingers."
