BA History Graduate

“After studying history at Christ Church I knew I wanted to stay in the “heritage” field and I found employment working on a project at the East Anglian Film Archive. I then decided to study early-20th century Antarctic exploration at the Scott Polar Research Institute, University of Cambridge and achieved an M.Phil. After graduating I worked in various archives and libraries and also researched for several shipwreck recovery companies (something I still keep my hand in) before gaining a postgraduate diploma in Archives and Records Management from UCL. I have since worked for the British Antarctic Survey archives and am now employed as an archivist at the Churchill Archives Centre. I spent three fantastic years at Christ Church developing a variety of skills which have enabled me to pursue my chosen career, most notably: the ability to perform primary research, investigate, question and assess material along with developing a sense of self-confidence in my own abilities.”
