St Thomas' or Eastbridge Hospital

As one of three hospitals at Canterbury under the patronage of the Archbishop of Canterbury, Eastbridge Hospital is a medieval gem in the city and you can find out about its history by viewing the panels.

Working with Canterbury Cathedral Archives and Library, we produced an exhibition to tell the fascinating history of this ancient hospital, from its foundation as a hostel for poor pilgrims coming to Becket’s tomb in the late 12th century to its role as an almshouse today for nine residents.
