Based in London, guitarist Richard Rozze can be seen performing in a variety of musical contexts on the jazz and pop scene and has earned a reputation as a creative and flexible musician.
He has performed with musicians such as Richard Bailey (drums), Frank Vignola (guitar), Paul Booth (saxophone), Ross Stanley (piano), Dave Whitford (bass), Brian Hanlon (singer/ songwriter), Michael Janisch (bass), Dana Gillespie (vocals), Laurence Cottle (bass), Alex Garnett (sax), Andrew Bain (drums), Aruan Ortiz (piano). Martin Elliott (bass), Dick Pearce (trumpet), Steve Washington (drums), Jeremy Peynton Jones (composer), Mark Fletcher (drums).
Notable engagements include the 2010 and 2011 Cork Jazz Festivals and regular appearances at the Broadstairs Folk Festival. As a bandleader or as a sideman, Richard has played in venues such as the ‘Vortex’ and the ‘606’ jazz clubs in London and at the ‘Kings Place’, London.
Richard graduated from Canterbury Christ Church University, where he was awarded a First Degree BMus. Richard is also a former graduate of London’s Guildhall School of Music and Drama, where he studied a Masters in Jazz.
Richard is actively involved in music education and currently teaches guitar and Jazz and Pop styles at Canterbury Christ Church University. He has given several workshops and has been involved in teaching on the acclaimed Mehr Clef Jazz Summer Schools in Roehampton and Hythe.
