Mark Lacey is an actor, director, teacher and theatre practitioner specialising in somatic education and performer autonomy. After training in physical theatre at The Desmond Jones School in London and with Commedia Del’Arte specialist Antonio Fava in Italy he won the International Street Entertainer of the Year Competition.
Further training on the acting course at Central School of Speech and Drama led to many roles in theatre, film and TV, including the National Theatre, and Cheek by Jowl, during which time he contributed to the development of Declan Donellan’s ground breaking book ‘The Actor and the Target’ and played the Mali Theatre in Moscow, the Bouffe Du Norde in Paris as well as on Broadway .
As director he has created and devised over 60 productions nationally and internationally and was co-founder of E.N.R. Productions and The Lightning Ensemble, for which he wrote and directed ‘She’ at The Soho Theatre in London. He was the first qualified Feldenkrais practitioner in Kent and has taught personal skills development globally for over 20 years.
Mark has a Masters Degree on the development of Lip-synching as a convention in live theatre.
