Laure has taught singing at Canterbury Christ Church University since 2004. A classically trained soprano, she has worked internationally as an opera and concert singer, consultant, and teacher for over twenty years. She maintains a private teaching studio in Canterbury and in London, with students ranging from beginner to working performer, and mentors young performing artists on career development. She holds a Master of Music degree from the University of Minnesota, Bachelor of Music degree, cum laude, from Central Michigan University, and did post-graduate study at the Manhattan School of Music.
Critically acclaimed for her portrayal of Hecuba, Queen of Troy in English Touring Opera's 2014 Olivier Award winning production of King Priam, Laure joined the roster of the Metropolitan Opera, New York in 2012 and has performed at the Royal Opera House Covent Garden, English National Opera, Welsh National Opera, and Opera North. A keen proponent of contemporary classical music, she has premiered many new works, covered the role of Ariel in Thomas Adès' opera The Tempest for the ROH, the Met and the Vienna Staatsoper, and her voice was featured on the soundtrack of the BBC/Sony film 'Rocketmen.'
