Kerry Boyle studied Music and English at the University of Keele and Voice at Trinity College of Music and has Open University Masters degrees in both English Literature and Education. Kerry has a broad performance experience from Oratorio to chamber recital and has worked with various companies including English National Opera, Spitalfields Market Opera, Opera International, the Ambrosian Opera Chorus and Camberwell Pocket Opera.
As an MD and vocal coach Kerry has worked on a variety of productions with groups ranging from the National Theatre to regional and local theatre companies.
As a teacher and choral director Kerry works with singers of every age and ability. Specialising in vocal technique for the stage, her students include musical theatre and opera specialists and jazz singers. She has established partnerships and ‘twinning’ projects with regional organisations, practitioners, choirs and ensembles in France, Italy, Germany, Hungary and Greece.
Kerry is the Director of Canterbury Vocals – an independent company providing a range of singing opportunities in the Canterbury area from tuition, workshops and community singing activities to choirs including Canterbury Girls’ Choir, Canterbury Girls’ Chamber Choir, Canterbury Ladies Choir and the Canterbury Voices.
Kerry is a teacher consultant on the ‘Art of Teaching’ project for the Musician’s Union and MusicTeacher.co.uk and currently teaches voice at Canterbury Christ Church University on both the Folkestone and Canterbury Campus.
