Profile Summary

At the moment I am working as a performer and a teacher. I play regularly with the RTE Concert Orchestra in Dublin, conducted by John Wilson. With this orchestra I have performed with artists such as Kiri Te Kanawa, Marti Pellow, Hollywood Composer Brian Byrne and Imelda May. The repertoire varies from Classical to Film Music and Popular music. In Canterbury I play regularly with the Kent Concert Orchestra, and the Festival Chamber Orchestra. This year I am also performing as part of an ensemble consisting of Staff members of CCCU. We are going to perform the Schubert "Trout" in a Canterbury Music Festival concert.

As a Teacher, I teach students of different ages and levels. Currently I teach in the CCCU, St Christopher's Primary School, privately at home and I also coach the Kent University String Sinfonia.

My teaching style consists of a balance between technique and interpretation, phrasing and stylistic guiding. I teach with a Russian-Finnish Violin School string method which emphasises technical exercises (scales, studies, bowing exercises) , repertoire and individual expressiveness through music. I take each student as an individual and want to make my lessons inspiring.
