Profile Summary

Ben Horner is a drummer, audio artist, composer and documentary maker. His expertise covers audio sampling, compositional structure in music and sound, the interface between music, technology and media, and the use of the spoken voice as an instrument of composition in both narrative and non-narrative forms.

Ben’s projects include the co-creation and performance of a piece entitled In Reculver Bay using guitar, drums and volume for Cricoteka’s Polyphonies series, a series of pop culture composition-as-documentary works for download, and performances for Sam Bailey’s Piano in the Woods, Eating Sound and Free Range events, as well as helping to run the latter. His current project is The Goodwin Sands Radiogram, a series of radio quasi-documentary pieces focussing on the south east corner of Kent.
