Dr Ellen Swift (University of Kent)

What did musical instruments sound like in Roman Egypt, how were they used, and who listened to them? As part of a wider AHRC project on artefacts from Roman and Late Antique Egypt, the project team attempted to address these questions through the recreation of replica objects using new 3-D scanning and printing technology. Some replica instruments will also be available to try out.

A joint lecture organised by CKHH and FCAT, booking not required, all welcome.
