Prof Paul Whitty
Make an effort to exhaust the subject, even if that seems grotesque, or pointless, or stupid. You still haven’t looked at anything, you’ve merely picked out what you’ve long ago picked out. (Georges Perec; Species of Spaces; 1974)
The auditory life of everyday objects; the sonic archaeology of Vauxhall Cross; and the slowly evolving soundscape of a field in Devon are some of the projects that I will discuss in this paper addressing the issue of interdisciplinary in practice-based research.
