The Sidney Cooper Gallery is a contemporary gallery housed in the historic building originally set up as a gallery and School of Art by renowned painter Thomas Sidney Cooper in 1868.

Located in the centre of the city, the gallery continues Cooper’s legacy in engagement through the arts and as part of Canterbury Christ Church University, is dedicated to providing a distinctive platform for the arts.

The yearly exhibition programme showcases practice based research from the BA Fine and Applied Art, Photography and Digital Design courses as well as curated exhibitions by national and international artists.
