“Everybody’s got the right to be happy so come in and shoot a president!” The late Stephen Sondheim and John Weidman’s ground-breaking musical comedy brings together nine misfit men and women who all set out to assassinate the American President (some more successfully than others). Using a dizzying series of musical and theatrical inventions that span the century from Lincoln to Reagan, ‘Assassins’ examines the conflicts that exist between entitlement, celebrity and the disappointments of the American Dream. This is the first production presented by the newly formed Anselm Theatre Company in association with ‘The House of Glass Angels’. This production contains some profanity and gunshots and is not recommended for those under age 11.
