Event details
As part of the British Council Venice Fellowship Programme 2019, Charles Williams spent a month at the Venice Biennale working at the British Pavilion and conducting his own research. This exhibition brings together the work he made during and immediately after the fellowship and shows his explorations of the parallels between the art observers depicted in Domenico Tiepolo’s fresco ‘Il Mondo Nuovo’ (1791) with the contemporary crowds he encountered during his time in Venice. Alongside Williams’ work, we will also show selections of research made by other fellows in his cohort including Dianne Kim, Liz Ramos-Prado and Vishnupriya Rajgarhia.
