Photo Credit - Hydar Dewachi. Serena Korda is an artist interested in imagined communities and invented rituals that often occur with and around objects that she has made. Serena is inviting people to work with her “witches bottles” an army of 20 ceramic vessels inspired by Bellermine Jugs from the 16th Century that were used during the Witch Hunts to ward off evil. On May 18th, she will use the jugs in a sound experiment that will combine incantations and improvisational singing techniques to explore the resonance and sonic potential of the “witches bottles”. Would you like to take part? Serena is looking for singers and willing performers who will work with her over the course of two evening rehearsals on Thursday 16 May and Friday 17 May, 5-7pm. Ideally we ask that participants commit to all rehearsal and performance dates.
