What is the relationship between eschatology and the field of religion and film? Are filmmakers and theologians involved in similar types of activity? This lecture explores the idea that films about the afterlife are rarely interested in the afterlife per se. Rather, they are more interested in exploring the implications of belief in an ultimate realm for earthly attitudes, behaviour and transactions.
