O. Messiaen, Quatuor pour la fin du temps. For International Holocaust Memorial Day, a performance of Messiaen’s exquisite and eloquent Quartet for the End of Time by one of the UK’s finest chamber ensembles. Scored for clarinet, violin, cello and piano, Messiaen's piece was written while he was a prisoner of war; the first performance was given by fellow inmates of Stalag VIII-A in January 1941.
