Helen Crayford (piano) | Kathy Shave (violin) | Julia Vohralik (cello) with guest performer Stelios Chatziiosifidis (viola). G. Mahler, Piano Quartet in A minor G. Fauré, Piano Quartet no 1 in C minor, Op.15 An intriguing programme juxtaposing two romantic masterpieces. Mahler’s youthful work, his only piano quartet, already bears the hallmarks of the great future symphonist. The Fauré is also a relatively early piece, but just as passionate and exciting as any of his later works.
