Congratulations on completing your course!

When you successfully complete your studies, we welcome you to another part of the University community - our ever growing network of former students (formally known as alumni).

For many students, this transition is celebrated very obviously in a graduation ceremony and leaving University is a huge step. This is particularly the case if you have come to CCCU straight from school.  As you think about issues such as where to live and work, your finances and your accommodation, you may find our Life After Uni pages helpful.

If you came to University later in life, or your course isn’t followed by a graduation event, the transition out of University may be more subtle. Nevertheless, however it happens, being one of our alumni means several things:

New services and benefits become available to you

We offer our alumni a range of discounts and retail benefits and also keep in touch with you through a range of central and departmental newsletters and e-bulletins. You can opt out of any communications you don’t wish to receive at any time via our update form.

You can continue to access some University services you enjoyed as a student

For example, we give Careers support for up to three years after you leave, discounted access to sports facilities and to the Library. Find out more about continuing services.

We give you help towards achieving higher level qualifications

We offer our alumni discounts on CCCU Postgraduate Taught courses, bursaries for postgraduate study and guaranteed interviews if you apply for a PGCE course (both of these benefits are subject to eligibility criteria). Find out about offers on postgraduate study.

New opportunities become available to you at CCCU

You can gain valuable experience as an alumni volunteer: helping at events, supporting current students or giving talks. How to help our students as an alumni volunteer.

You can also attend events for alumni or network via one of our social media platforms.

We will need to contact you

The University is required by Government to contact all qualifying students 6 months after they leave to ask about their current activity (employed, self-employed, unemployed etc). To help us meet this obligation, it is vital that we have your up-to-date contact details. You can provide these online now via our update form.

Please note, for students who qualify from 2018 onwards, this survey will be managed directly by the Higher Education Statistics Agency (HESA). The University is required by law to provide HESA with your contact details for this purpose.

You need to keep us advised of any changes to your contact details

Some of the services you needed as a student are discontinued once you qualify. 

Your University e-mail account and access to the Student Portal is closed 35 days after you complete your studies and therefore we need your personal contact details to enable us to keep you informed of alumni services, benefits, events and opportunities. 

You can do this now, or at any time in the future, using our update form. You can also use this form to tell us how you wish us to communicate with you in the future – including whether there are any communications you do not wish us to send to you.
