Over the last few years, we have worked closely with our Students' Union to develop a collaborative working partnership for sustainability, which is now part of Students' Union policy and practice.

The SU's Sabbatical Officers for Community, Diversity, and Inclusion, and Campaigns and Societies now have sustainability within their remit. In recent years the Students' Union has been awarded the Green Impact Students' Unions award for three years running, and received Responsible Futures accreditation for their work with us.

A collaborative partnership

In 2016, the University and Christ Church Students' Union entered in to both NUS Green Impact and Responsible Futures Partnerships. The Green Impact partnership ran for three years during which time CCSU achieved the highest scores for a non-commercial union. In 2019 the Responsible Futures partnership was fully accredited, which built on significant and consistently excellent work in developing the University's Education for Sustainable Futures portfolio, through the former Futures Initiative project.

You can get in touch with our Students' Union Sabbatical Officers to find out more about what the Students' Union are doing in sustainability.

Student societies

Each year there are a number of student societies active within our Students' Union centred around representation, advocacy, equality, community and other aspects of social sustainability.

We care about people and the planet and hope that our society can bring some support to causes that need attention and action. We are closely involved with pre-established societies and organisations such as The Student Green Office, Project 93 and Us In The World.
