I am a finance professional with more than 20 years experience, including holding key leadership roles. This breadth of experience has provided me with a thorough understanding of both the operational and strategic challenges faced by organisations, experiences which I am able to draw on daily.
Prior to joining CCCU, I held the role of Management Accountant at Maidstone Borough Council, which followed several temporary finance contracts across a range of sectors and graduating with a BA in Accounting & Finance from Lancaster University.
I joined the University back in 2010 and have held a number of key leadership roles within the Finance Directorate, most recently as Director of Finance and a member of the Senior Management Team.
As the Director of Finance, I am responsible for financial leadership within the organisation and ensuring that the University remains financially sustainable in the short, medium and long term. This involves working with colleagues across a range of disciplines and external stakeholders, to enable the University to navigate the increasingly volatile and uncertain external environment, ensuring both the protection of public funds and delivering value for money. I am passionate about using finance to ensure evidence based decision making enabling the development of an environment for both staff and students to thrive.
I am a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accounts and have undertaken further supplementary qualifications in key areas of interest including Digital Innovation for Finance and Sustainability for Finance.
