
Dr Sam Parrett CBE is an experienced education leader with a long-standing commitment to widening participation, social mobility, and high‑quality technical and vocational education. She has spent more than three decades working in education, holding senior leadership roles that span strategy, curriculum innovation, organisational development, and community partnership.
Sam is Group Principal and CEO of Elevare Civic Education Group, where she has led significant transformation across its colleges, schools and apprenticeship provision. Nationally, Sam is recognised for her contribution to the FE and schools’ sectors. She has advised on government policy, championed the role of colleges in economic and social development, and supported national initiatives focused on improving outcomes for young people and adult learners. She was awarded a CBE for services to education in 2021. Sam serves on a number of boards and advisory groups across the education and skills landscape and is a regular contributor to sector-wide publications on leadership, innovation and social impact.
Sam brings to the Governing Body extensive expertise in governance, strategic planning, financial stewardship and organisational leadership. She is passionate about ensuring that education institutions remain inclusive, future‑focused and deeply connected to the communities they serve.
Sam is married with two sons and, with her family, supports Wrexham, West Ham and Bromley football clubs, reflecting both her personal and professional connections. In her spare time, she enjoys travel, theatre and music.
