The Institute of Medical Sciences (IMS), based at the Medway campus, offers a range of postgraduate medical courses and is a centre of excellence for medical education and research.

We provide a high quality academic and clinical learning experience, offering specialised MCh Surgery pathways and ground breaking research in the use stem cell technology within clinical practice. The Institute houses a fully-equipped clinical Simulation Suite enabling clinicians to develop skill and expertise using specialised equipment.

The university has strong links with the urology robotic service provided by the Urology Department at the Kent and Canterbury hospital, led by Consultant Urologist Mr Ben Eddy.

The Institute recently became only one of six UK universities running the International Sponsorship Scheme for International Medical Graduates (IMGs) permitting those IMGs who meet the General Medical Council (GMC) criteria to gain GMC registration whilst studying at the university and supported by named clinicians.

Teaching and research within the Institute is led by leading clinicians and researchers.
