Web Steering Group

The principal purpose of this group is to give strategic vision and direction to the Web Development Team in relation to the Internet. The group should clearly articulate the intended audiences and the nature of the material to be made available on the Web. It should monitor the success, or otherwise, of the Web in reaching the designated audiences. The group may also impact on the Intranet in terms of structure, style, images etc.

Effectively the terms of reference are to:

  1. provide advice with regard to web development to the SMT member with responsibility for Information Services;
  2. ensure that any web development addresses the needs and requirements of the University's major stakeholders (including applicants, staff and students)
  3. provide strategic vision and direction for the Web Development Unit;
  4. provide a forum for the discussion and dissemination of policy in relation to web development;
  5. monitor the success of major web developments.
  6. address the needs and requirements of the University's major stakeholders (including applicants, staff and students) in the development of the web site.
  7. communicate the outcomes of the Steering Group's work to all interested parties.
