BULLETIN BOARD

March for Mothers HPA logo

Join a sponsored walk on 17th March 2012 at Greenwich Park to raise awareness of the 340,000 women who die each year in pregnancy and childbirth, and help whilst raising funds to help save the lives of mums and babies in some of the world’s poorest countries.  Midwifery  students may be particularly interested, but the walk (5K or 10K distance over easy ground) is open to all.  Click here for further info.

'Home' and EU undergraduates - APPLY NOW!

Student Finance England (SFE) have informed us that their service for returning students is now open with a deadline for submitting applications by 29th June 2012. Submissions after that date may not be processed in sufficient time for loans and grants to be paid at the beginning of the new Academic Year.

Further information is available from our Financial Support pages.

Please note that the Full-time Tuition Fees (Home and EU) for 2012 will be £3,465, and that this is a slightly higher fee than last year.  Please make sure you apply to SFE for the right amount - as otherwise you will be personally invoiced for any short-fall.

BE AWARE OF SCAM STUDENT LOAN COMPANY EMAILS

Student Loans Company

Students are likely to receive a great deal of correspondence from Student Finance England, with payment schedule letters or letters requesting further information coming through the door. Scammers exploit this increased contact, and students should be wary of email requests that appear to be from Student Finance England or the Student Loans Company asking for confirmation of bank details.

The Student Loans Company will never ask students to confirm their bank details via email. Click here, to view one example of the scam emails being sent out. If you do receive such a request, you should forward the email to security@slc.co.uk for further investigation.
