Some students will be moving away
from home when they come to the University. You can help them
protect their health whilst they are away by ensuring they are
up-to-date with all routine vaccinations (including MMR,
Meningitis C, Polio and Tetanus) prior to starting their
studies. Check this with your local GP. Once a student arrives
at University, they should register with a GP close to where
they will be living. You can help by making sure that they do
this soon after they arrive. Students who are not registered
with a local GP will find it very difficult to see a doctor if
they are not registered (and the University is powerless to do
anything in these circumstances).
Students at Canterbury
can register with a GP at Canterbury Health
Centre (26 Old Dover Road, Canterbury).
Students at Broadstairs
and Medway will need to
register with a GP Practice in the locality of their
campus or their accommodation. To find a GP service in
the local area please click
