Staff Development is not the remit purely of the Staff Development Office. It is a partnership between key central departments, leaders and managers and staff themselves.

Staff Development Office
- Main contact: Tracy Bell-Reeves
- Co-ordinates University wide activity such as appraisal, conferences, workshops and induction
- Provides facilitation and consultancy to HoDs and teams
- Leads on IiP and Leadership & Management Development
- Funding for Development Leave & Further Qualifications.
Faculties
- Each faculty has support and resources for Staff Development
- This Includes a Faculty Learning & Teaching Co-ordinator linked to LTEU
- Dean's Assistants will have all contacts.
Quality & Standards Office
- Main Contact: Chris Stevens
- Support for validation and assessment processes and development for those acting as Examiner & Programme Directors with SDO.
Equality & Diversity
- Main contacts: Margaret Scott & Moira Mitchell
- Planned or bespoke development to support embedding good practice in E&D at all levels.
LTEU
- Main contact: Phil Poole
- Offers learning & teaching related development
- Home of the PGCLT (HE)
- Learning Technology
- Support for Research Informed Teaching.
Research Office & Graduate School
- Main contact: Darren Ambrose
- Offers support in undertaking PhD, MPhil or MRes as well as development in research and research degree supervisor skills
- Also offers funding for research projects.
Head of Department (HoD)
- Staff Development at a departmental level is supported mentoring, peer review, appraisal and team development
- Departments also have local staff development budgets to fund individual and team needs.
Health & Safety
- Main contact: Don Cross
- Offers training and support in all health & safety related matters
- Co-ordinates H&S Reps, Building Wardens and First Aider roles.
