Responding to Plagiarism

This session will look at how what we commonly refer to as plagiarism can, in fact, be the result of several different factors other than the intention to lift someone else's work.

Brief outline:

With guidance about how to use TURNITIN (a plagiarism detection software) from a new Blackboard interface.

Referring to two different experiences (undergraduate & postgraduate), we will illustrate how we can put students first and make sure their real intentions, skills and educational needs can be better understood when assessing written work.

We will give you samples of work and the opportunity to experience TURNITIN personally and to discuss our interpretation of our results and our journey so far.
