Recruitment and Selection Training

Mandatory training for any member of staff who sits on an interview panel who has not previously attended training.

“I wouldn’t change a thing. We had the most eclectic group of staff and yet the delivery catered well for this clear differentiation. For a two-day training programme (which can so frequently feel like a slog and be anticipated with dread!) it felt worthwhile, very informative and was actually rather fun. I learnt a great deal” (past participant 2006)

Brief outline:

It is University policy that no staff member can sit on an interview panel without having undertaken this training. The programme covers all stages of the recruitment and selection process, from job analysis and design through to interviewing and induction. It aims to give participants a sound grounding in University procedures, the wider legal framework and the practical skills involved.
