Enhancing Career Prospects
Any current member of staff who is looking to apply for an internal position at the University (particularly professional and support posts up to Grade E) or seeking to enhance their career potential/planning.
Brief outline:
This workshop will run over three lunch times and is designed to support staff who are looking for a new challenge within the institution.
These sessions are working lunches so please do bring along your lunch. Each session will build on the previous session so please ensure you are available to attend all three sessions.
What you can expect to learn:
Day 1 Time for a Change?
Understanding you reasons for wanting to change career/role as well as understanding yourself, your strengths and the sort of roles that you might be suited to. We will also look at the changing landscape of HE and consider the employment sector in Kent.
Day 2 Applications and CV's
Following from the previous session we will look at how to put these skills into an application/CV and make the most of what you have got.
Day 3 Networking and Interviews
How to do more than just apply for a job. How to utilise internal events to your advantage and tips on how to develop effective networks that will help you in your applications and working life.
