The Staff Development Office can give you the opportunity to take part in learning activities outside your normal working hours for FREE*. Your course can be as diverse as you want it to be, from scuba diving to floristry and everything in between.
The Employee Development Fund is open to staff paid between the new spine points of 1 to 11 (previously 1 or 2 pay scale), who are employed by the University for more than 15 hours per week and gives staff the opportunity to take part in learning activities outside normal working hours.
* This is the University's Employee Development fund, which enables staff to find a course of their choosing and for the institution to provide funding of up to £150 per person, per academic year.
The aim of the fund and the University is to:
- Encourage individuals into learning
- Improve staff morale
- Demonstrate to all staff they are appreciated
- Enhance individual’s self-confidence
Please note:
The supplier of your course must be a registered Self-Employed Company/Person, or a
registered business.
We will not be able to make payments to private individuals.
The applicant must have passed their 6 month probation.
