Frequently asked questions

1. How much is it?

Sessions cost £1 a session (1 hour) so for the block of five it will cost you only £5.

2. I’ve only just found out about it and it’s already week 3, can I still take part?

Yes, of course. You’ll just pay £1 for each session you attend.

3. What if a session is fully booked?

Get your name added to a waiting list by emailing trysport@canterbury.ac.uk As soon as we schedule new dates you’ll be the first to know.

4. Can I get a refund?

Refunds will only be given if you have a valid doctor’s note that exempts you from physical activity during the five weeks. We can alternatively transfer you over to a different activity that may take place on a different day.

5. What will I do at a session?

Trysport aims to inspire you to try out a new sport or refresh your skills in a sport you used to do, in relaxed and fun activity sessions. Each hour long session will be a mix of skills and games led by a fully qualified coach.

6. What shall I wear?

There is no dress code to take part in trysport, just wear something that you are comfortable to exercise in (including trainers). Please remember to bring a drink with you.

8. Will all equipment be provided?

Yes, all equipment will be provided for you.

9. Can I try more than one sport?

You have one opportunity to get involved in trysport, but don’t worry, once you have completed a five week course there are lots of other sports at Christ Church that you can get involved in.

10. What can I do after a five week session?

Your coach will be able to inform you where else you can take part in that sport. Perhaps you now feel confident to try a university team, or even a club within the community or maybe you just want to keep active and would like to become a member of the sports centre.

11. There are a group of us who want to try something that isn’t listed, is this possible?

Of course, just email trysport@canterbury.ac.uk and we’ll see what we can do!

12. Can I bring along someone who is not a student/member of staff at CCCU?

Unfortunately these sessions are aimed specifically for students and staff at Canterbury Christ Church University
