Where they have been issued in advance, visitors should display their visitors permit.

Changes to the University Car Parking Policy March 2011

1. Staff and students with caring responsibilities for children of 11 years and under will be eligible to apply for a permit.  This will become an additional criterion.
*Permits issued on this criterion will be subject to a the current fee structure but this fee may change with the implementation of pro-rata fee charges to be implemented from the 1st August 2011.
For full details see the University Car Parking Policy

2. part-time and sessional staff will pay a proportion of the full-time sum based upon their fractional contract rounded to the nearest quarter. This means, in effect, that there will be four bands not, as at present, two

There are a number of other minor changes intended to clarify the policy. The policy now makes clear that:

a) students who are blue disability badge holders can apply for a permit at any campus.  These permits will be free to students

b) staff with long term or short term mobility problems who are not blue disability badge holders are eligible to apply for a permit

c) blue disability badge holders should park in ‘disabled’ bays and all other staff in general bays.

d) students who spend 50% of their time on placement should only pay the part-time fee

e) permits will not be issued to associate staff or self-employed

f) staff names will no longer be used on permits – another identifier will be used.

Full details of these changes can be seen in the University Car Parking Policy.
