Easter and Summer works programme.

The planned outline of the works is detailed below and is intended to enhance our environment.  The works will take place during the Easter and Summer recesses. More information and individual notifications will be given to affected areas and via StaffNET before each programme of works commences.

Works to commence -

February:

  • Conversion of Pg05 (Powell Building) to an animation room for the Department of Media, Art & Design (28/02/2012 – 20/07/2012).

March:

  • Internal refurbishment of the current Student building to provide music practise rooms with the building to be renamed Maxwell Davies (completion in September 2012).
  • Refurbishment of Design and Print areas in Ramsey - now complete.
  • Refurbishment of Hf17 to provide offices for SEITE - now complete.
  • Refurbishment of Hf27 to provide a Theology & Religious Studies study room - now complete.

April:

  • Improvements to the North Holmes Road underground services infrastructure Phase 1 (April).
  • Refurbishment of the Cloister Room - now complete.
  • Laud flat roof replacement (April – June).
  • The Old Sessions House (TOSH) (1880 building) new slates/flashings (April – July).
  • Refurbishment of the toilet facilities at 1 Lady Woottons Green - now complete.
  • Refurbishment of Pg06, Pf06 and Pg09 Powell Lecture theatres - now complete.
  • Redecoration of Erasmus stairwells - now complete.

May:

  • Invicta Server Room, electrical and air conditioning services improvements (May – July).

June:

  • Improvements to the North Holmes Road underground infrastructure Phase 2 (June – September).
  • Internal refurbishment of the Student building to provide music practise rooms with the building to be renamed Maxwell Davies (main contract 04/06/2012 – 24/08/2012).
  • Completion of the new build Student Accommodation at St George’s Place to provide 200 bedrooms, 10 three bedroom houses and new Student Union and facilities (14/06/2012 – 31/08/2012).  For completion in September .

July:

  • Improvements to the Augustine Hall lighting and sound systems (02/07/2012 – 31/08/2012).
  • Lanfranc Student Residential accommodation Phase 4 internal upgrade (02/07/2012 – 14/09/2012).
  • Benson Student Residential accommodation Phase 2 internal upgrades (02/07/2012 – 14/09/2012).
  • Laud Foyer Lift (16/07/12 - 23/07/12).
  • Replacement of the Newton Lift (02/07/12 - 27/08/12).

Works to be carried out during the Summer 2012 break:

  • Internal refurbishment of St Gregory’s Centre for Music to enhance the music performance area (completion in September 2012).
  • Upgrade to rooms Rf05 and Rf11 Ramsey.
  • Ramsey Air Conditioning system replacement.
  • Upgrade to rooms Of27 and Of50.
