Organisation
Working in partnership with the University's various departments and business units, Corporate Information Services (CIS) designs, builds and runs information systems and web-based applications. This work includes developing small customised solutions, implementing large off-the-shelf packages, producing management reports and building database driven websites.
To perform these duties, CIS is divided into four relatively distinct service areas:-

The Department employs a total of 23 staff with diverse technical skills including a software architect, a business analyst, analyst programmers, web designers, web developers, database administrators and support specialists. Some staff members are primarily involved in ongoing maintenance of existing systems while others are deployed on projects.
Targeting resources appropriately to satisfy the broad business needs of the University is the remit of the Information Systems Strategic Development Group, which is tasked by the University's Senior Management Team to resolve conflicting priorities.
The Information Systems Committee maintains an overview of the development and implementation of the University's Information Strategy on behalf of the Academic Board.
