The Computing Services Purchasing and Administrative Team
provides a comprehensive administrative service for the
Computing Services Department.
The team provide support to the Director of Computing Services
and Computing Services Managers, their responsibilities are as
follows:
- To manage the purchase of all IT and IT-related equipment across the University.
- To manage expenditure and income on all Computing Services Budgets.
- To assist in the planning of the Computing Services Budget.
- To provide contract management of all hardware maintenance contracts.
- To provide contract management of all software and software licences.
- To work with the development and future maintenance of an asset management system.
- To assist the Management Team in areas such as:
- To oversee the audit processes
- To complete regular surveys i.e. UCISA
- To respond to all requests under FOI and Data Protection - Servicing Computing Services Management Team meetings (taking minutes, assisting in the preparation of papers etc.).
- To assist the University's sustainability officer to work towards a sustainable IT provision.
- To oversee the 'goods in' process.
- To oversee the IT equipment disposal process.
- Maintaining the diary for the Director of Computing Services
- Arranging meetings (room bookings, hospitality, parking etc.)
- Servicing the various inter-departmental and external meetings (e.g. Weekly Operational Meeting, Information Services Committee taking minutes, assisting in the preparation of papers etc.)
- Departmental Health and Safety co-ordination.
- Recording etc. of Staff Holiday and Sickness.
- Departmental staff inductions
- IT Training for staff: Registration, booking, planning and all other aspects.
- To support the recruitment process.
- Manage HR issues including the induction process.
- Provide project support
- Provide printing support
- Support insurance claim processes
- Support account creation
- Arrange department recharges for services
- Provision of building administration
- Maintain Computing Services Risk Register
- Provision of Computing Services Disaster Recovery process
