Print credits policy
At the start of their first course and then at the start of each subsequent academic year all students are allocated £12.50 value of print credits. Print credits can be carried over to the next year if unused, but may not be exchanged for any monetary equivalent and it is not possible to transfer the monetary value to another card or user.
If you change your course or do several courses during an academic year you will not
receive additional free credits.
Some courses require unusually high levels of printing, and in
these cases additional credits may be given. If you are unsure
whether this applies to you, please contact your tutor.
In Canterbury, the Print
Credit Kiosk is located in Augustine House (near the i-zone). A minimum of £5 and maximum of £20 credit can be purchased and
the kiosks accept cash and debit cards. The Kiosk does not
give change so, if using cash, please insert the exact amount.
You can also purchase more credit online by visiting: https://cccu.pcounterwebpay.com
If purchasing credits
via a Kiosk or online, please check the amount carefully - these
are dealt with by a third party which means we cannot give
refunds.
Printing credits are only taken when printing to university lab
printers. Credits are not deducted where a student in
halls prints to their own printer, even when logged on to the
network.
Credits are deducted according to the following schedule:
| Print Type | Price |
| A4 Mono single-sided prints | 5p |
| A4 Mono double-sided prints | 5p |
| A4 Colour single-sided prints | 15p |
| A4 Colour double-sided prints | 15p |
| A3 Mono single-sided prints | 10p |
| A3 Mono double-sided prints | 10p |
| A3 Colour single-sided prints | 25p |
| A3 Colour double-sided prints | 25p |
Credits are deducted from your account as the print job is completed by the printer - if there is a fault and your work is not printed out then you will not lose any credits. If there is a delay in your work being printed, please do not send the work again; wait to see if there is other work ahead of yours in the printer queue, or contact the i-zone if there is a fault with the printer or the print service.
There are three ways you can check your credit:
-
Check it on any of the new MFDs in Augustine House (logon with your Smartcard or username/password and your credit will be displayed on the top line of the screen)
-
The Print Credit Kiosks will tell you your balance
