VPN Overview:
When members of staff are working from home they do not have any access to files or resources stored on internal University resources. The Virtual Private Network Service (VPN) allows members of staff to make a connection over their internet connection to access selected internal resources so that they can work on them from home or other environments external to the internal University network.
The links below describe this service in greater detail - what it can do, where it is available, what you will need to make a connection and your obligations concerning its use. Please read these details carefully as incorrect use may affect the service for other users and misuse could result in problems with your main University account.
Note: At the present time, only devices running Windows XP, Windows Vista and Windows 7 are able to connect to the VPN Service.
