Agresso Systems

Patches, Service Packs and Upgrades

Current server versions are:

Live - Agresso 5.5 SP3 Patch 10

AgrTest1 - Agresso 5.5 SP3 Patch 13

AgrTest2 - Agresso 5.5 SP3 Patch 10

A Patch is described as a temporary addition to a piece of code, usually as a quick-and-dirty remedy to an existing bug or misfeature. Agresso release patches on a regular basis which can be as often as once a week. Not all patches apply to us however as they could be related to a part of the software that we are not using. Therefore we only apply relevant ones in order to save unnecessary acceptance testing time. The latest patch details are listed as part of ASK (Agresso Support & Knowledge)

A Service Pack (SP) is described as a software program that is released when the number of individual patches to an application becomes too large. A service pack combines all of these patches and is easier to install. Agresso release a service pack once a year and include in it the Payroll Year End Patch. This is why, in order to run payroll through Agresso, we always have to be on the latest service pack.

An Upgrade is described as a new or better version of software. Agresso release upgrades about once every three years.
