Postgraduate Research Association conference
Our next annual conference, Crossing Boundaries: Beyond and Across Academia, will take place at the North Holmes Campus of Canterbury Christ Church University on Thursday 25 May 2017.
The conference aims to explore how academic work can cross various boundaries and can be interpreted broadly. The theme encompasses interdisciplinary approaches within academia, work that explores social and/or cultural boundaries between groups, ethical boundaries, and taking research beyond academia.
The call for abstracts is now open and bookings will open early in April. We would be thrilled to welcome you to this conference.
About the conference
We hold our research conference every spring at the North Holmes Campus of Canterbury Christ Church University.
About 100 people attend, both academics and research students, to discuss an important theme. In order to make the conference as accessible as possible, every effort is made to ensure that the conference remains free of cost to participants. Just as important as the formal keynote and paper presentations are the informal discussions over refreshments and lunch. Registration opens at 9 a.m. on Thursday and the conference ends formally at 4:30 p.m. There will be an informal social gathering afterwards.
This year the conference will also feature the final of the university’s inaugural Three Minute Thesis competition.
We are delighted to announce that the keynote address will be given by Dr Lois Lee, Principle Investigator on the ‘Understanding Unbelief’ programme - a major international and interdisciplinary collaboration researching how social structures and regional cultures shape the beliefs and practices of the religiously unaffiliated.
