Support and Communication

Our network of trained professionals are here to help you throughout your time as a Christ Church student and we continually look at how we can improve our support services.

Your safety is paramount. To help you study and live in a safe environment, we have two new initiatives:

  • Help with getting home safely on nights out is offered through Canterbury Street Marshals which was piloted in 2015 and now rolled out for 2016. Street Marshals operate in male and female pairs across parts of Canterbury throughout the night.
  • Calling for assistance swiftly from the University’s Security team will soon get easier. With the new SafeZone App, coming in November, a simple tap of an on-screen button will put you in touch with Security 24/7.

Keeping in touch with you

We understand that the information you need changes throughout the year and you’ve told us you would like a choice on how you access information. So, it is now easier to find information online through enhanced and new systems.

  • Two new social media accounts have been created just for current students. Whether you use Facebook or Twitter, these new student social media accounts will help you keep on top of what is happening across the University, including events, activities, competitions and news. Join us on Facebook at and follow us on Twitter at
  • Finding your way around the Students' Union CCSU website is easier with a new look format and webpages. And you needn’t miss out while you’re on the move - with the launch of the new CCSU App you can keep in touch with things that matter to You.
