Student Reps

It is important that there are opportunities for you to share your views on the student experience and programme of study.

Student Representation

Student-staff liaison meetings normally take place once a term and are your chance to have your say.

One or more Student Representatives will be elected to attend these meetings, to raise the views of fellow students and report back to their peer group on outcomes.

What is the role of a Student Representative?

The role of a student representative is vital to assure a high-quality student experience and to support student retention and success.

There are four strands of student representation:

  • Programme Representatives
  • School Representatives
  • Faculty Representatives
  • University Representatives

A student representative:

  • Act as a voice for the students
  • Provide feedback to the University and the Union on key issues which affect the student experience
  • Work proactively to develop and enhance the wider University experience
  • Communicate regularly with the cohort being spoken for
