OneDrive

As a CCCU student you have free access to "OneDrive for Business" cloud storage, for use during your studies.

What is OneDrive?

OneDrive is a cloud-based storage solution that is available as part of Office 365. This is a free service for all currently-registered CCCU students, and provides up to 1TB of cloud storage for the duration of your studies.

How to access OneDrive from the Office Portal

To access your OneDrive file storage:

  1. Go to https://portal.office.com and enter your University email address.
  2. You will then be taken to a login screen. Enter your usual University username and password. This will open up the Office Portal. 
  3. Select the OneDrive icon to open your file storage.

Important information

Please note that OneDrive for Business is not a direct replacement for your N: drive and will not be backed up in the same way. If you accidentally delete a file, we will not be able to recover it. Also, keep in mind that when you leave the University any files which you have on OneDrive for Business will be permanently deleted, even if you have shared them with someone else. Sharing files with OneDrive

To share files on OneDrive:

  1. Go to https://portal.office.com and enter your University email address.
  2. You will then be taken to a login screen. Enter your usual University username and password. This will open up the Office Portal. 
  3. Select the OneDrive icon to open your file storage.
  4. Select the file (or files) and select ‘Share’.

  1. Type the person’s email address and add an optional personal message if you need to.

  1. Click share. The person should then receive an email address confirming you have shared the file with them.
