We are hosting a volunteering taster sessions with Catching Lives, Marie Curie to give students an opportunity to ‘give it a go!' for Christ Church Community Day. Below are some of the opportunities in which you can get involved in:

- CATCHING LIVES - Monday 22nd January 12-2pm

Come along to find out what roles are available for volunteering at the Catching Lives Day Centre and at the Canterbury Winter Shelter. Sign up on Wednesday 24th January to be part of our Christ Church Community Day!

- ‘Make a Monster’ Charity Crafting Drop-in - Wednesday 24th January 10.30-2pm

Flex your creative muscles and help raise money for a good cause! The Arts Coordinator at Catching Lives will be running a crafting drop-in, where you can have a go at making some fabric monsters, small ceramic succulent pots and other small crafting projects, to sell and help raise funds for Catching Lives. No need to book, just attend and be creative! 

- HOUSING & OPPORTUNITIES FAYRE - Tuesday 23rd January 10-2pm

In partnership with the Students’ Union and Homestamp, students can come along to find out about different ways to get involved in the work of local charities and organisations including British Red Cross, Gulbenkian, Catching Lives, Marie Curie, Macmillan Cancer Care, Shaw Trust, SNAAP and many more...

- MARIE CURIE CANCER CARE - Wednesday 24th January 12pm.

Tin-Drop Fundraising Challenge - Run in partnership with the Raise and Give (RaG) Society at Christ Church Students’ Union and Marie Curie, this is a fun activity to raise awareness and support fundraising for Marie Curie Cancer Care. Who can find the best spot in Canterbury to raise funds? 

The challenge will kick off at 12pm on Wed 24th January from Augustine House Atrium. Students will have until 10pm Fri 26th Jan to complete the challenge and in April, there will be small prize giving event to announce what funds were raised for Marie Curie through these tins. 

We will be recruiting for the challenge at the Housing and Opportunities Fayre on 23rd January or email to find out more.
