Canterbury
Christ Church University has an active Branch of the UCU with a growing membership. The Branch elects delegates directly to
national bodies of the union including Annual Congress. It has a close working relationship with UCU Branches in Canterbury
College, Mid-Kent College, South Kent College, Thanet College, the University College for the Creative Arts and the University of
Kent.

The University and College Union (UCU) was formed on I June 2006 by the amalgamation of the Association of University Teachers and NATFHE - The University & College Lecturers' Union.
The new union represents 120,000 staff working in further and higher education and is the UK's largest and most effective voice in post-school education.
Built on the shared experience and expertise of the two strong unions - AUT and NATFHE - the newly created UCU brings together academics, lecturers, trainers, instructors, researchers, administrators, managers, computer staff, librarians and postgraduates from universities, colleges, prisons adult education and training organisations.
