Aaron Cooper (Powerlifting)

Aaron began training in powerlifting in November 2007 and in a short space of time has had great success both nationally and internationally. For the last two years Aaron has won the British Powerlifting Championships and in 2008 was placed 8th in the World Championships in South Africa.

During 2009 Aaron plans to continue competing in powerlifting at European and World standard as well as playing rugby in his spare time.

Ceilidh has been a keen sailor for many years competing in regional, national and international races. In 2008 she was part of the first all-female crew to complete the Tall Ships Race 2008 and this year she aims to attend the ISO National and European Championships.

An RYA Racing Instructor, Ceilidh plans to work with Dover Water Sports Centre and Herne Bay Sailing Club where she usually sails from.

Nick is part of the UK’s leading pole vault squad, ‘Team Polestar’, and trains with Blackheath & Bromley Harriers AC. His recent achievements include success in regional and national championships where he has won numerous silver medals and was ranked 2nd in the south east for the Under 20 Men’s age group in 2008.

This year Nick aims to clear 4 meters and in the next 3-4 years he hopes to gain a GB vest and reach international level in time to compete in the Commonwealth Games or Olympics around 2014/2016.

Meghan trains with Kingston Trampoline Academy for trampolining and double mini tramp and with the University team for trampolining. During recent competitions Meghan has been successful both individually and as part of a team in synchro trampolining, double mini tramp and trampolining where she came first in a regional final in October 2008.

Meghan’s plans for the future include continuing to train hard and work as a coach at the club where she trains. She also hopes to perform well at competitions including the London Regional competitions, Gala Weekends in Burgess Hill and Cardiff and will soon be competing in Ireland.


Lucy Underdown (Discus/Shot put)

Lucy, who trains with Medway and Maidstone AC, has been throwing for over 5 years and has competed at many standards representing Kent County, Kent Schools and the South East at the first ever UK School Games. Lucy has won numerous gold, silver and bronze medals for discus and shot and is ranked 2nd in the UK for discus.

In the future Lucy would like to start competing at some of the senior championships to gain more experience. She aims to make the qualifying distance for discus to go to the European Junior Championships later this year.
